Recognizing Excellence in Family Child Care
The Wisconsin Family Child Care Association proudly recognizes outstanding child care providers who exemplify our mission to support, educate, and advocate for family child care providers, children, families, and communities. Each year, one exceptional provider is chosen to reflect the dedication, values, and leadership that drive our work across Wisconsin.
The Provider of the Year Award is one of the most prestigious honors for family child care providers in the state. It celebrates those who go above and beyond to nurture children, support families, and contribute to the child care community.
Do You Know an Outstanding Provider?
Nominate a provider who:
- Mentors and supports fellow providers.
- Serves as a trusted resource for families and colleagues.
- Advocates for the needs of children, families, and providers.
Qualities We’re Looking For:
We seek providers who demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Excellence: 4 or 5 stars in YoungStar or working towards NAFCC/Satellite Accreditation.
- Advocacy: Active in the past year for children, families, and peers.
- Peer Guidance: Mentors, teaches, or supports other providers.
- Leadership: Takes on leadership roles in child care organizations.
Nominee Qualifications:
- Certified or licensed provider in Wisconsin.
- No serious non-compliance issues.
- Attending the 2025 WFCCA Conference (April 10-12 in Green Bay).
- Not a previous winner of this award or the Governor’s Award.

Complete the nomination form. You may also email additional materials - such as photos, program details, or testimonials from parents or colleagues - to info@wisconsinfamilychildcare.org. Please include both the nominee's name and your name so we can match your submission with the correct nomination form.
